Best beaches for kids in Pelion

Pelion has dozens of superb beaches, but not all of them are suitable for children. On the eastern side of the mountain, the sea is deep and often volatile. The most family beaches with shallow and calm waters are located within Pagasitikos Bay. 

1. Afissos Six Keys

Sunbeds right next to the sea, fine pebbles and calm waters will allow you to enjoy a cocktail without letting the kids out of your sight. Perhaps the most expensive beach choice in Pagasitikos Bay, but the experience is remarkable on many levels. 

2. Kala Nera

The most famous beach in Pagasitikos is perhaps not the most beautiful. But it is certainly child-friendly, and if you go before noon it will also be quiet. Here, you will find all the Thessalians on the weekends and all the Balkans in August! Your children will make new international friends, build castles on the sand and get exhausted from swimming. 

3. Paradeisos

A long beach with sand and shallow waters that is preferred by people with small kids as well as by the elderly. There is a cafe-bar and a canteen, but the beach is so long, you may need to stock up on the essentials. Let the children play carefree while you enjoy the shade of the centuries-old olivetrees.  

4. Rivera

Okay, here things change. There is no sandy beach or even a pebble beach. But there are other amenities that attract older children like a magnet. Rocks to explore, water sports, grass for lying down, and a platform from which children love to jump into the sea. Parents, on the other hand, enjoy the coolest shade in the entire Pagasitikos. Even on the hottest day, Rivera has a cool breeze.
